Almost Eight Months Old!

Charlie is almost eight months old! He’s not quite crawling, but he scoots and rolls all around the floor. He also does a lot of rocking, going from a sitting position to all fours. He enjoys playing in the floor and will play for long periods of time by himself. I don’t know if that’s good for him, but it’s certainly good for me! It’s nice to be able to park him in the floor and get a few things done around the house.

We had to take the bumpers off of his crib because he was starting to untie them. I’d check on him while he was sleeping and find him rolled over to the side, sleeping with his head tucked under the bumper. Guess he wanted it darker in his room!

Charlie has expanded his culinary expertise and now enjoys sweet potatoes, butternut squash, avocados, bananas, pears, apples, sweet peas, green beans, and carrots. I boil or steam his food, purée it, and then spoon it into ice cube trays. When the trays are frozen, I put the cubes in a storage container. Then when he's ready to eat, I can just grab a cube of this and a cube of that, zap it, and he has an instant meal. On another digestive note, Charlie is getting two more teeth—one on either side of the top two incisors. You can see his teeth sometimes when he smiles. They are too cute!

Charlie enjoyed a great first 4th of July with Uncle Rick visiting. He watched his first fireworks out at our friends Les and Benita’s farm, The Peelerosa. I really thought that he wouldn’t like the loud noises, but he never complained and was a trooper throughout a long evening.

Also, on non-Charlie note, I have some exciting news about Cimarron Creek Jewelry, my jewelry business. I've been selling to friends and family and also have a shop on Etsy. I’m excited to announce that my jewelry is now being carried in a local upscale yarn store, The Gourmet Yarn Company! The store owner had been looking to expand and include creations from local crafters and artisans. This is a welcome opportunity, and I’m excited to be a part of the local crafting community!

Congrats on your jewelry line! But there is nothing out at your Etsy site...are you going to put more up soon!

I am also addicted to that site - so thank you! I 'window shop' for Karsyn way too much...and end up buying too much as well! ha ha!

Enjoy the time while Charlie still sits there...once they start moving they won't stop! ha ha!

Hi Wendy!
Yes, I'm planning on putting a few things on Etsy soon. It's just hard to find time to work on it! I wish the days were about five hours longer--that would be just what I need! Or maybe I'll start sleeping less and drinking more coffee...oh wait, I already do that!

I love reading Karsyn's blog. I know Mom reads it too. I'm sorry we missed you all this weekend! Charlie and I were in town visiting. We'll have to meet up sometime!
