Summertime, summertime, sum, sum, summertime!

Charlie and I had a great trip to Texas to visit Granny and Granddad. Charlie was a good passenger this time. We timed it right on the way down and back so that he slept most of the way. While there, we enjoyed long summer days full of digging in the dirt, swimming, and playtime. Charlie's mom enjoyed sleeping late while Granny got Charlie up, fed him breakfast, and entertained him. So luxurious! haha

In other news, Charlie loves the water! I rejoined the YMCA just so we can go swimming together. There's a branch a few miles from the house so we're able to go several times a week. In the pool, he loves splashing, blowing bubbles in the water, and kicking his legs. We use an inflatable ring with a mesh seat in the middle, and it's like his own floating island. The other kids at the pool love swimming up to him and playing with him. On days when we don't go to the Y, Charlie swims in his inflatable pool in the backyard. Well, "swimming" is used loosely...Charlie really just likes splashing in and out of it and tromping through it.

Here's the part where I list Charlie's new developments, but where to begin?! One funny thing he does is walk around with his chin down and belly sticking out to get attention. Cracks me up. In terms of language, I'd list his new words, but pretty much, if you say it, he'll repeat it. The one word that he doesn't say is his own name. He's like Voldemort--the "boy who must not be named"!
